Like many of the best things in life, this adventure began with a bad experience that was turned into a great opportunity. While complaining (me) about the skyrocketing cost of dimensional lumber while cleaning up downed trees on our farm, one of our helpers commented that it was too bad that we couldn’t use all the down trees we were clearing. Remembering my grandfather’s farming and logging experience, I began looking for a local mill to saw my downed logs into boards. That is when we discovered portable mills and ultimately slab tables. From there, we were hooked.
